Hurray for a sunny day in Florence

Dare I believe these tentative blue patches??

Yes! it is official, Tuesday is sunny in Florence or Firenze, depending on which you prefer.

I decide to take advantage of the sun and catch the bus to Piazzale Michelangelo.  Knowing I was going to see the city laid out before me in the sun was a good incentive.

Florist in Florence

Passed some lovely parks on the way and the usual traffic hold ups due to road works

Beautiful old buildings by the dozens and signs to exotic sounding places.

The she was laid out before me in all her glory, mountains in the distance,

Olive trees immediately below the piazzale giving the area a rural look and feel,

Just beautiful.

this winding road up was the reason I chose not to walk, been there, done that,

The Ponte Vecchio spanning the Arno River and still lined with the goldsmiths who have worked there for hundres of years.

More olive trees beside the old stone wall of the Forte de Belvedere

Bright roses still blooming,
hidden grotto like spots underneath the Piazzale,

but you know what, they need to do a few turns with the Roundup!!

See ya

Jo

PS  David was there in all his glory too but not the real one,  he's tucked away safely in one of the museums.
